Terms of Service

Last updated: 01 October 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are the agreement between you and LGSA (Pty) Ltd ("we", "us", "our"). They apply whenever you use LightVille, GTAMO, our website, our Store, our launcher, or any other service we run. Please read them. If you do not agree, do not use our services.

The short version

  • You must be at least 13 to play. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these Terms for you.
  • Sparks and in-game items have no real-world value. They cannot be traded, sold, transferred or cashed out.
  • Sparks cannot be refunded once they are delivered, unless delivery failed or the law requires a refund.
  • Cheating, exploiting and harassing other players can get you banned. A ban means you lose your Sparks and items.
  • We may record in-game and voice sessions and publish them on our website and YouTube channel.
  • We are not connected to Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive or SA-MP.

This summary is for convenience only. The full Terms below are what count.

2. Agreeing to these Terms

By creating an account, connecting to our server, making a purchase or otherwise using the Services, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Cookie Policy. Staff may also publish server rules and faction rules on our website or Discord. Those rules form part of these Terms.

3. Age and parental consent

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Services. We do not knowingly allow anyone younger to create an account. If we find that a player is under 13, we will close the account and delete its personal information.

If you are under 18:

  • Your parent or legal guardian must read and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy on your behalf before you create an account.
  • You may only buy Sparks with your parent or guardian's permission.
  • Your parent or guardian is responsible for supervising your use of the Services.

GTA San Andreas contains mature themes, and roleplay may involve crime, violence and strong language. Parents and guardians should decide whether this is suitable for their child.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child used the Services or made a purchase without your permission, contact support@lightvillegames.com. We will work with you to resolve it, which may include a refund and closing the account.

4. Your account

  • Each person may have one account. You may only use your own account.
  • Give us accurate information when you register, and keep your email address up to date.
  • Keep your password private. You are responsible for everything that happens on your account.
  • You may not sell, trade, share, give away or buy an account.
  • Your account and everything on it are licensed to you, not owned by you. This includes your character, money, property, vehicles, items and Sparks.
  • If you believe someone else has accessed your account, tell us immediately.

5. Rockstar, Take-Two and SA-MP

LightVille and GTAMO are independent fan-made multiplayer projects. They are not made, endorsed, sponsored or supported by Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive or the SA-MP team. Grand Theft Auto and GTA San Andreas are trademarks of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc.

You need your own legitimate copy of GTA San Andreas to play. Our launcher distributes mod and server files only. It does not include the original game. You must also follow the terms of any other platform you use to reach us, including Discord and YouTube.

6. Code of Conduct

When you use the Services, you must not:

  • Use cheats, hacks, mod menus, macros, bots or any unauthorised third-party software.
  • Exploit bugs or glitches, such as money or item duplication. If you find a bug, report it to staff and do not use it.
  • Attack, overload or try to gain unauthorised access to our servers, website, database or accounts.
  • Trade in-game money, items, property, Sparks or accounts for real money or anything outside the game ("real-world trading").
  • Harass, bully, threaten or discriminate against anyone. Hate speech based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexuality, disability or nationality is not allowed.
  • Share another person's personal information without their permission. This includes real names, photos, addresses and phone numbers.
  • Share sexual or explicit content in any public space we run. Any sexual content involving or directed at minors is strictly forbidden and will be reported to the authorities.
  • Impersonate staff, other players or any real person.
  • Scam or defraud other players, in or out of character, involving real money or real-world items.
  • Ignore reasonable instructions from staff, or break the server, roleplay or faction rules we publish.
  • Use the Services to break any law.

In-character actions that are part of legitimate roleplay, such as a character committing a crime in the game, are not a breach of this section as long as they follow the roleplay rules.

7. Enforcement and bans

If you break these Terms or our rules, we may take one or more of these actions, depending on how serious the breach is and your history:

  • A warning
  • An in-game jail, kick, mute or faction removal
  • Removal of money, items or progress gained through a breach, such as an exploit
  • A temporary suspension
  • A permanent ban from some or all of the Services

We may also reset or adjust the in-game economy, or individual accounts, to undo the effects of an exploit.

If you are permanently banned, or your account is closed for a serious or repeated breach, you lose all Sparks and virtual items on the account. You will not receive a refund.

You may appeal a suspension or ban within 14 days by contacting support@lightvillegames.com or using the appeals channel on our Discord server. A staff member who was not involved in the original decision will review the appeal.

8. Sparks and virtual items

Sparks are our in-game premium currency. Sparks, and anything you get with them or earn in the game, are "virtual items".

  • Virtual items are a limited, personal, revocable licence to use a feature of the Services. They are not money, property or a financial product, and they have no value outside the Services.
  • Sparks belong to your account, not to a character.
  • Sparks cannot be traded or transferred to another player or account. They cannot be sold or exchanged for real money, and cannot be converted into any other currency.
  • Sparks do not expire while the Services are running.
  • We may change the prices, availability and features of virtual items in the game. We may also balance, change or remove virtual items as the game develops. Where we remove an item that you bought with Sparks, we will provide a reasonable replacement or return the Sparks.

9. Store purchases

How it works. In the Store you buy Sparks with real money. You then use Sparks to buy vehicles, properties, items and packs.

Prices. All prices are in South African Rand (ZAR). Where VAT applies, it is included in the price shown. The full price is shown before you pay.

Payment. Payments are processed by a third-party payment provider, using the methods shown at checkout. We do not see or store your full card or bank details. Your payment is also covered by the payment provider's own terms.

Delivery. Sparks are delivered automatically to the account you choose at checkout, usually within a few minutes. Make sure you enter the correct account name. If your Sparks have not arrived within 24 hours, contact support@lightvillegames.com with your receipt.

Records. We email a receipt to the address you give at checkout. Your purchase history is also available in your account. Keep your receipt for your records.

Refusing an order. We may refuse or cancel an order if we suspect fraud or a pricing error, or if the account is banned. If we cancel a paid order before delivery, we refund you in full.

10. Refunds, cooling-off and chargebacks

Cooling-off. The Electronic Communications and Transactions Act normally gives you seven days to cancel an online purchase. At checkout, you ask us to deliver your Sparks immediately and agree that delivery begins before the seven days are over. Because of this, the cooling-off right does not apply once your Sparks have been delivered.

Refunds. Sparks are non-refundable once they have been delivered to your account. You are entitled to a refund if:

  • Your Sparks were not delivered and we cannot fix the problem
  • You were charged more than once for the same order
  • A parent or guardian shows that a minor made the purchase without permission (see section 3)
  • The law otherwise requires us to give one

To ask for a refund, email support@lightvillegames.com within 30 days of the purchase with your receipt. Approved refunds are paid back using the original payment method where possible. Refunded Sparks are removed from your account.

Chargebacks. If you dispute a payment with your bank or payment provider, we may suspend the account while the dispute is open. A chargeback made in bad faith may lead to a permanent ban. Please contact us first. Most problems can be solved faster that way.

Nothing in this section limits any rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act or other South African law.

11. Recordings and your content

We record. We may record gameplay, in-game chat and voice sessions on our Discord server. This includes events, the Gazette and commission hearings. We may publish these recordings on our website, YouTube channel and social media. By taking part, you agree that we may record and publish them, including your in-game name, character, gameplay and voice.

Removal. If you do not want your voice or character to appear in our published content, email privacy@lightvillegames.com. We will leave you out of future content. We will also edit or remove existing content where this is reasonably possible. We will always act on a request from a parent or guardian of a player under 18.

Your content. You keep ownership of what you create, such as character stories, forum posts, screenshots and videos. You give us a free, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to display, share and use that content in connection with the Services, including to promote them.

Your own videos. You may record, stream and upload your own LightVille gameplay, including in monetised videos, as long as you do not suggest that we endorse you. We may ask you to remove content that breaks these Terms.

12. Our intellectual property

The LightVille, LGSA and LightVille Games names, marks and logos are owned by LGSA (Pty) Ltd. We also own our scripts, maps, launcher, website design and original content. You may not copy, sell, redistribute or reverse-engineer them without our written permission. This includes running our scripts or maps on another server. Rockstar and Take-Two material remains the property of its owners.

13. Availability and changes to the services

We work to keep the Services running, but we cannot promise they will always be available or error-free. Servers may go down for maintenance, updates or reasons outside our control. We may change, add or remove features at any time.

If we decide to permanently close the Services, we will give at least 30 days' notice on our website and Discord.

14. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss of virtual items, data or progress caused by events outside our reasonable control.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the six months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability where the law does not allow it. This includes your rights under the Consumer Protection Act and liability for our gross negligence.

15. Closing your account

You may ask us to close your account at any time by emailing privacy@lightvillegames.com from the email address on the account. When an account is closed, any remaining Sparks and virtual items are lost and cannot be refunded. We may keep some records after closure, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

We may close your account under section 7. We may also close it if it has been inactive for more than two years. In that case, we will first send a notice to the email address on the account.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. If we make an important change, we will post a notice on our website and Discord at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you keep using the Services after the change, you accept the new Terms.

17. Complaints and disputes

If you have a complaint, email support@lightvillegames.com with as much detail as you can. We aim to reply within 7 business days and to resolve complaints within 30 days.

If we cannot resolve your complaint, you may approach the National Consumer Commission or another body with jurisdiction. You may also approach the Information Regulator about any privacy matter.

18. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute will be heard by a South African court with jurisdiction. If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid, the rest remains in force.
