Today marks a massive turning point for the legal and enforcement landscape of our server. We are officially rolling out the Official Penal Code, a complete system overhaul designed to bring structure, fairness, and absolute accountability to the streets
🔄 Out With the Old, In With the New
Previously, the arrest system relied entirely on an officer's personal discretion. Officers would simply drag a player to the arrest point and manually input whatever jail time they felt a criminal deserved. This led to inconsistent sentencing, guesswork, and unfair treatment.
That era is officially over.
With the new Penal Code live, every single infraction has an assigned code, a fixed jail sentence, and a specific fine
⚖️ What is Live Right Now?
The core mechanics of the Penal Code are fully operational. Here is what you need to know immediately:
Standardized Crime Chapters: Offenses are now strictly categorized across 8 distinct chapters, ranging from Traffic and Public Order to Violence and Organized Crime
. Clear Operational Tiers: Crimes are transparently split into Tier 1 offenses (processed at the local SAPS holding cells) and Tier 2 offenses (intended for federal prison)
. The 120-Minute Jail Cap: No matter how many charges you stack up during an incident, your total time behind bars is strictly capped at a maximum of 120 minutes
. Uncapped Financial Fines: While your time in a cell has a ceiling, your financial liabilities do NOT
. Every single charge adds its full fine to your debt . A reckless crime spree will face severe long-term financial consequences . Repeat Offender Multipliers: Getting caught for the same offense multiple times within a 7-day period will trigger automatic fine multipliers (up to 2×) and extra jail time modifiers

🚧 Status of the Judiciary System
Please be heavily advised that the Judiciary System is still actively underway and in development.
Because the legal infrastructure is still being built behind the scenes, formal court sessions, prosecutor reviews, public defenders, and judicial appeals are currently offline
Temporary Sentencing Protocol: Until the government and judicial factions are fully trained and equipped to run live courtrooms, all sentences will be served directly at the federal prison.
Once the complete judicial update drops, Tier 2 suspects will legally receive their right to a structured, 20-minute courtroom trial before being locked away
. Until then, the system will process the fixed charges automatically based on the penal guidelines.
