Between 27 July and 13 August 2026, the LightVille economy absorbed a series of transactions that should not have been possible.
Money entered circulation without a source. Commodity sales settled at values the provincial vault could not cover, triggering a system fallback that paid out regardless. Sums in the hundreds of millions moved between accounts in minutes, were fragmented across a dozen recipients, and were dressed up as vehicle sales at prices no vehicle in this province has ever commanded. At least one account changed its name mid-chain.
The Office of the Premier has today established a Commission of Inquiry to determine how this happened, who benefited, and what it means for every citizen who earned their money the ordinary way.
Terms of reference
The Commission is mandated to investigate and report on:
- The origin and mechanism of the irregular diamond proliferation first recorded on 28 July 2026;
- The identity of all parties who received, held, moved, or realised value derived from it;
- The conduct of any provincial officer or administrator whose access or action bears on the matter;
- Whether existing market safeguards were adequate, and what must change.
The Commission's findings are advisory. Its record is public.
A caution the Commission places on its own evidence
The provincial ledger records that a commodity sale occurred, and for how much. It does not record which commodity was sold. Every attribution before this Commission is therefore either confirmed by physical holdings on record, or inferred from circumstance and price. Where the Commission infers, it will say so. Where it cannot prove, it will not claim.
Witnesses appearing before this Commission are not accused of anything. They are called because they hold information the province needs. Several will be cleared on the record. Citizens are reminded that summons is not accusation, and that anyone conducting themselves otherwise toward a witness will be dealt with accordingly.

For players — the out-of-character part
What this actually is. We spent weeks hunting a duplication exploit and hit dead ends on the exact root cause. So: stopgaps are in, the duplicated diamonds are being stripped from the economy, and the investigation continues — in character, in public, at the Courthouse.
If you're summoned. You'll be contacted directly with your sitting date. Show up, answer in character, and tell the truth as your character knows it. This is roleplay, not a disciplinary hearing — account actions are handled separately and are not decided by what happens at the Commission.
If you're not summoned. Come and listen. Public gallery is open. Bring your character.
Recording. If you capture good footage of a sitting or its aftermath, submit it to the Gazette media submissions channel — aired footage is paid for.
